Dental Cleanings are quick and painless procedures. The American Dental Association recommends that you receive a dental cleaning once a year at the very least. More if you have a history of periodontal disease.
The first step in any dental cleaning is the physical exam. During the exam we will check for signs of gingivitis or any other potential concerns.
After the exam we will begin the cleaning by removing plaque and tartar with a Scaler, We will then then brush and floss to keep your mouth as clean as it can be. Last but not least comes the fluoride treatment.
To treat your teeth with fluoride the fluoride paste is placed in a mouthpiece that fits over your teeth. It is held there for at least a minute. This helps to protect your teeth from tartar, plaque, and cavities for months to come.
